Registration and Breakfast provided
Jeff Nuckolls, Director of Cloud Services at Aditi Technologies, shares his experience working with organizations on the Azure Cloud - where it is going, how it is being leveraged successfully, and how the Cloud is reshaping the way we think about IT resources.
Azure Resource Manager
Keeping track of all the various resources used by a solution is a daunting task. Azure Resource Manager enables you to group multiple resources into a single logical group. With the ability to save the group as a template, we can reuse it for future solutions. In this session we’ll explore how the Azure Resource Manager can be used to better manage our Azure solutions. We’ll dive deep into creating resources and manipulating the Resource Manager templates. In the end, you’ll be able to unlock new, powerful ways to manage your Azure resources.
Understanding End-to-end Architecture Implementations on Microsoft Azure
In this session, we’re going to talk about real-world, proven architectures running on Microsoft Azure. Over the past several months, Microsoft has been pulling together knowledge from both the product teams and the field to provide prescriptive Architecture guidance. The deliverable is a series of Azure architecture blueprints. Through overviews and comparisons, you’ll get a big-picture understanding of what different end-to-end solutions look like on Microsoft Azure. You’ll see how Azure features in combination help solve different business problems. Q&A is welcome throughout the session.
Build a Cloud Application Roadmap
The Cloud has matured into a strategic resource enabling enterprises to enter new markets, outpace their competitors, and reduce costs. So how does an enterprise work through the variables in order to make a sound business decision that leverages the resources available in the cloud? During this presentation, we will drill into the analysis and design due diligence needed to make an informed decision, and look to develop a roadmap that can be used to rehost, revise, or rebuild applications to best meet your business objectives.
Evaluating the Cloud Move – An Approach to Implement Successfully
So you would like to start moving existing applications to the cloud? Great! But, not all apps are destined to be cloud apps. In this sessions will look at indicators we should look out for, and how to approach your analysis armed with objective criteria based on economics, performance, flexibility, and risk. We will end with advice on building your cloud roadmap.
Updates to Azure Cache
Caching is one of the most common techniques to improve performance, but in the Cloud it also has a direct effect on scalability. In this session, we’ll explain why caching is an important part of a scalable Azure architecture design. We’ll then explain the various Azure Cache offerings and current recommendations. Along the way, we’ll dive into specific features of Azure Cache with associated demos.
Avoiding Common Azure IaaS Issues
Are you or your customer ready to move to Azure IaaS? The Windows Support team has been enabling customer success stories since the IaaS Preview. Support will talk about most common IaaS issues and how you or your customer can troubleshoot these issues. This session will be packed with top IaaS issues and go deep in explaining the reasons, possible mitigations, and resolutions.
The Evolution of Cloud Automation
Embracing the Cloud means embracing Automation. And we are not talking about your father’s automation here - No. We are talking about a fully functional Azure Service dedicated to Automating your Cloud Workloads. Whether you are new to Azure, new to Automation, or an old pro at both, come see why Azure Automation is the next step in the Evolution of Cloud Automation. This discussion comes with links and references to fully tested Example Automation Runbooks – So, when you are ready to step into the future, we got you covered!
Azure Mobile Services
You can quickly build and debug Azure Mobile Services Locally. You can also connect to existing databases and expose them through Azure Mobile Services. This session will go beyond the basics getting started with the .NET Backend and include how to use a Staging scenario for testing.
Microsoft Azure Security, Privacy & Compliance Fundamentals
This primer on Microsoft Azure offers insights into its industry-leading approach to security, privacy and compliance in the cloud. Learn more about the technical capabilities and operation processes that help safeguard your data, applications, and infrastructure in Azure.
Windows Azure Virtual Network for Enabling the Private Data Center in the Cloud
We will discuss and demonstrate how to connect a Windows Azure Virtual Network to an on-premises network effectively creating a private data center in the Cloud. See how to create a virtual presence in multiple regions around the globe which can be used for either private computing or global presence. We will also discuss troubleshooting strategies and tactics for these networks where physical access is not a viable or timely option.
Cloud Architecture Patterns 1
In order to take advantage of all the opportunities that the cloud offers, it is important to architect cloud-native applications according to a proven set of best practices and design patterns. This session introduces scalability and eventual consistency patterns that allow you to build well-designed and highly scalable cloud-native applications.
Intro to Azure Media Services
Ever wonder how you would go about creating your own Internet TV show? What about a YouTube competitor? Azure Media Services is the platform that was used for streaming the Olympics Live. We will be discussing the basics behind how to create and Azure Media Services to upload and stream videos from the service.
High Octane Azure Storage
Our need for speed spans cars and computers. Microsoft Azure must drive this need which in the past was provided by hardware vendors. Azure Storage powers cloud service performance: Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), StorSimple, Media Services and many other cloud services are directly dependent on the IO horsepower delivered by Storage. This talk will examine what can be done to increase performance. First we’ll look under the hood in order to understand the impact of architecture, geolocation and replication. Next, we’ll examine common problems and how to avoid them. Finally, we’ll demonstrate the tools to debug performance related issues so that you can determine if the issue is in your configuration or with the Microsoft Storage Service.
Planning a Scalable End-to-End Multi-Tier Application on Microsoft Azure Websites
Cloud doesn't mean compromises anymore! Running a super high-traffic website is no longer only within the abilities of on-prem solutions. With the latest features in Azure Websites, you can span your content dynamically across high capacity compute resources, including CPU Cores, memory and storage, and easily deal with massive amounts of traffic. This session will explore the process of scaling a web-site from small to large to very large, as well as the unique challenges, proven solutions and architecture decisions that enable running websites at massive scale.
Cloud Architecture Patterns 2
It is important to architect cloud-native applications according to a proven set of best practices and design patterns. This presentation is part 2 of a 2-part topic which introduces multitenancy, commodity hardware and network latency patterns that allow you to build resilient cloud-native applications.
